My research lies at the intersection of gender inequality, social policy, and political economy. I focus on the socio-political dynamics of gender policies and gender-oriented social schemes in lower-middle-income countries. I study the intentions and motivations driving these policies and schemes and analyze how they shape societal attitudes, behaviours, and structures. Engaging in an interdisciplinary approach, I critically examine the political and economic foundations of these initiatives, assessing their potential and limitations in fostering a gender-responsive systemic change.
