The Division of Public Policy at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) are pleased to announce the inaugural Hong Kong Social Science RPG Poster Conference, on June 8, 2026, at HKUST.
Research doesn’t have to be a solo journey. This conference aims to bring together Research Postgraduate (RPG) students across Hong Kong working in social sciences and related fields. Here you can spark new friendships, find future collaborators, and build a lasting professional social network!
Eligibility:This conference invites RPG students from all Hong Kong institutions to present research across the General Social Sciences, Public Policy, and Public Administration. We welcome submissions that range from theoretically-grounded inquiries to empirically-driven studies. The thematic scope is organized into six core tracks: Public Administration & Policy; Political Science & Global Governance; Sociology & Demography; Economics & Public Finance; Business Administration & Organizational Behavior; and Interdisciplinary & Emerging Social Sciences (Interdisciplinary research is especially encouraged). A detailed breakdown of these thematic tracks and their specific sub-fields is provided on the following page for your reference.
Abstract (maximum 250 words) can be submitted [HERE] by May 10, 2026. Notification of acceptance will be on or before May 20, 2026. Submissions are limited to two poster proposals per author.
Format:The conference will be conducted in a poster presentation format. Accepted participants will present their research during structured poster sessions designed to maximize interaction and discussion. This format is particularly suitable for work in progress, dissertation chapters, and early-stage research projects.
Logistics & Support:There is no registration fee. Participants are expected to cover their own travel expenses within Hong Kong. Please prepare your poster in A0 portrait format. Kindly print it out in advance and bring it with you to the conference, as we will provide the display stands for you to set up.
