The Division of Public Policy (PPOL) is the proud co-organizer of the Data for Policy conference in the Asia region this year. The conference will take place at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Venue: Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study; Lo Ka Chung Building) on Monday, 5th December 2022.
The Data for Policy conference series is the premier global forum for multiple disciplinary and cross-sector discussions. Topics include the theories and applications of data science and digital technology and implications for public policy and governance.
The main theme of this year's conference highlights "Ecosystems of innovation and virtual-physical interactions." We will discuss with leading researchers, experts, and practitioners in Asia and beyond the major opportunities and challenges in facilitating and governing data-driven innovation. Among the topics discussed at the conference are smart city development, governance of artificial intelligence, social media, e-government, data governance, and citizen participation. Their implications will be explored for public policy and international relations, particularly in the context of diverse institutional environments in the region.
There are six areas covered as the basis for the conference’s standard tracks:

(2) Data Technologies and Analytics for Policy and Governance
(3) Policy Frameworks, Governance and Management of Data-driven Innovations
(4) Ethics, Equity and Trust in Policy Data Interactions
