Biography
Dr. Zhuoni ZHANG is Associate Professor in Urban Governance and Design Thrust, Society Hub, HKUST (GZ) and Affiliate Associate Professor, Division of Social Science and Division of Public Policy, HKUST. She graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and worked as a faculty at City University of Hong Kong before she moved to HKUST(GZ).
Dr. Zhang’s research interest lies in the fields of urban studies, social stratification, and population migration. Her research outputs were published in high-profile journals such as Social Science Research, Biodemography and Social Biology, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Demographic Research, Chinese Sociological Review, BMC Public Health, and《中国社会科学》. Recently she is working on urban studies that emphasize interdisciplinary socio-spatial comparative analysis, knowledge transfer, and social impact.
Dr. Zhang has conducted research projects funded by National Education Bureau, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, Macau Government Social Work Bureau, Shenzhen Government, and Shanghai Government.
