PPOL is an intimate department within a world-class university which pursues top-notch research in every field—my research topics centre around global smart meter deployment. My research benefits a lot from the deep expertise about energy and sustainability from my supervisors and the wide range of interests and knowledge from other faculty members in this rigorous and supportive department. The highly interdisciplinary toolbox provided by this department ranges from public policy, public management, economics, social science and technology. These interdisciplinary perspectives, plus the generous support from faculty members, make the research output unique and high standard and help everyone achieve personal growth. Moreover, the department has established a global academic network, hosting conferences and seminars regularly, further broadening our vision and network.
