Prof Xiaogang WU was elected as the Inaugural President of International Chinese Sociological Association (ICSA) (2018-2019), previous known as the North American Chinese Sociologists Association (NACSA).
The North American Chinese Sociologists Association (NACSA) was founded in 1981 by prominent scholar Prof. Nan Lin (Oscar L. Tang Family Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Duke University), which is a nonprofit association (registered in California) to promotes social scientific research on Chinese societies, cultures, and populations in the world. The Association functions to foster scholarly exchanges and to facilitate a continuing dialogue among sociologists of Chinese and non-Chinese descent in North America, Pacific Asia, and elsewhere in the global community.
Recently, NACSA has been renamed as the International Chinese Sociological Association (ICSA), and Prof Xiaogang WU was elected as the first president of ICSA. ICSA will continue the mission of NACSA, and expand its activities and networks to other regions in the world, especially in the Greater China Region.
